You should have been there. Good gads: records were broken, new memories created, Jake came out of his shell and Frodo gave up the One Ring. That's right, devoted fans: the Jake 'n Dave Show has gone and facilitated its first engagement:
Jacob L. Thomas
is pleased to announce the marriage of his brother
David L. Cazier
to
Emily Anne Taylor
Daughter of Angels
on 23 May, 2009
in the Manti, Utah Buddhist (er...LDS) Temple
There it is! You should'a seen the grin on the old boy's face when he dropped the knee and popped the question. After she tearfully accepted his offer, he snapped the ring-box shut and handed it to her. Thanks to his honest mistake, I'll know my tradition-bound duty to actually slip it onto her finger (thanks for the tip, mate).
I was along as a photog (though I mostly just took photos of myself) and honorary circus boy, a solemn witness to history.
As for me...well, I had the courage to hold a girl's hand (gasp!), but that's a book that has yet to be closed. But the best and most ironic part is...
They're both named Emily.
Pfft! More on this later as the Jake 'n Dave Show blossoms into it's best season right, right down there on that KAGE radio station: Where Dave holds hands with a girl on the second date and winds up hitched.
Congrats, bro! Settin' the example as always. :)

School is OUT for Christmas!
Well, the last finals were completed and Snow College is DEAD. Not even kidding, I think Jake and I were the only ones walking around campus this weekend. It is amazing that the semester is officially over and Spring semester 2009 is on its way!
Hopefully you heard the semester finale for the Jake 'n Dave Show this last Thursday. If not, you missed out! We had Liz Alldridge and her roommate Becca on the show to give us the female's perspective on dating life and share a few bad dating experiences. Let's just say that gems were being dropped all over the joint, and Jake was so inspired that he went out and got a girlfriend. Literally. And I got engaged! Not even joking, the advice given to us has improved our dating lives dramatically.
Jake also gave Snow College a Christmas gift by having his band perform live on the show, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." I was downright impressed and amazed. I didn't know Jake had it in 'im. But sure enough. As always, I am surprised.
Well I hope you all have a great Christmas break. And don't you worry, January 8th will bring the Jake 'n Dave Show right on back on air. 8 to 10 PM on the KAGE 89.5 FM Ephraim, or http://www.snow.edu/kage. Be sure to tune in for a great second season.
Until then, God bless! And don't forget that Christmas is the most romantic time of the year!

Christmas Cheer
Hey ya'll!
Well, I hope you heard the show last Thursday. It was a dandy! Thanks to all of you who called in and voiced your opinions and asked good questions. We had a dang blast to be downright honest. A-Town kept us giggling, Parker had us crying, and Jake... well... we had to cover our eyes because of the glare off of his bald head. But seriously, it was a great show. What's better? We have another show this Thursday at 8!
This Thursday we will actually be having a FEMALE on the show. So for those of you who claim that we are 1oo% totally bias, welp, now we are only like 98%. Liz Alldridge from Salt Lake City, Utah will be joining us on the show to share her horrible dating experience that she had just over a month ago. It is a DOOO-ZY! So be sure to check that out. PLUS, FELLAS: she is going to be giving us all some advice about how to snag that certain someone. So Snow College students, take a break from those final studies, all of you outside of Snow go to snow.edu/kage and tune into a hilarious two-hour Jake 'n Dave Show.
Christmas is well on it's way! Should be a blast. Jake is taking off to Idaho (boo!) and I'm off to Wyoming for a great Christmas 2008. I hope you all have the same.
See ya Thursday!

The Three Jake 'n Dave Dating Philosophies
We've talked about so much this semester that it's hard to summarize everything into a few sterile bullet points. However, if there's any basis or (heaven forbid) a theme trending on our show, it would be these:
Jake 'n Dave's Three Dating Philosophies
1. Making friends. The purpose of dating is to get to know the other person. This is generally accomplished by talking. Who would'a thought?
2. Keep it simple. You don't have to be interested in a long-term relationship to go on dates. One or even two (or several) dates don't necessarily imply future commitment. Friends can take friends on dates.
3. Most of all, dating should be fun. Once dating loses its "fun" quality, it ceases to be dating and starts to be drama.
Words of widsom from your self-professed dating experts. Trust me, these stem from experience.
We'll be talking more about these three points this Thursday on the show. Don't forget to tune in!

Emerging from an Amish Lifestyle
So what if I've never used a blog before? It took me like an hour to figure out how to post a comment. It's takes me about the same amount of time to send a text message. Dave likes to call me "Amish." I prefer "Old School." The kind of old that's cool. Like Patrick Stewart.
Dave said it by announcing the theme of our show tonight. It's something your not gonna wanna (are those words?) miss. Because not only is A-Town the man, he's got a black belt in dating.
How does one acheive the ranking of "black belt?" The qualifications are simple in listing, but hard in nature:
1) You have to be the man (as set by The Dave Standard for Manhood).
2) You have to have the ability to grow mutton-chop sideburns.
3) You have no fear of asking girls on dates.
4) You have no fear of holding girls' hands.
5) You have to have overcome fiery trials of breakup and backbiting and still be the man.
Dave falls short because of #2. I'm not qualified because of #4. A-Town, however, has them all in Spades. Or should I say Hearts?
Catch us tonight on the Jake 'n Dave Show, "Where Every Night is True Badger Night."
Tonight will also feature the TOP 10 Pickup lines!
Bring it on!
(By the way, did anyone catch our article in the Snowdrift yesterday? Yes indeed, it was written by A-Town, the man himself. We'll talk about it a bit more on the show, but if you chance to stray upon a copy of the newspaper, check it out on the lower-left corner of page 2.)

Back to School...
Well, well, well...
Yup, here we are back in lovely school once again. Although I must say that the days have gone by rather quickly already. Hard to believe that THURSDAY is almost here! And we all know what that means... Jake 'n Dave Show time.
Perhaps you've heard, and perhaps you haven't, but Snow College-legend Aaron "A-Town" Christensen will be aboard the show. We all know what kind of entertainment he brings from his two radio shows, so be strapped in for an awesome time. Also, A-Town and my "connection" will be on the show as well, Parker Wightman from Sandy, Utah. Parker has had some nasty dating experiences since he has recently been put "back on the market" just a few months ago. Can Dr. Jake save the day? Find out on this action-packed edition of The Jake 'n Dave Show, Thursday 8-10 PM on the KAGE 89.5 FM Ephraim, Utah or at http://www.snow.edu/kage.
Alright... and after the pitch, the Dave can now get to the personal notes. I am going to vent. Jake, that dang jerk, STILL hasn't written anything on this blog. Personally, I think he is scared of getting muffed too much on this thing. It's not my fault he's so tenderhearted though, gosh dang it. "Fragile Jake" that's all I hear now-a-days from people. Heavens to betsy! Just write on here, dang it Jake! Stop using your frail body as an excuse.
Whew. I'm really not that mean of a fella. Honestly.
Hope you have a great week, and good luck with the dates! See ya Thursday!

Digesting Turkey
Well I hope everyone had a good time with overeating. I sure know I did. I really honestly wonder if Jake even started eating at all. I have come to believe that Jake just eats birdseed. He is seriously the skinniest man alive. A lot of people are getting caught up in this "Dollar for Ethiopia" thing to save the starving people of Africa, I say we start a "Dollar for Jake" fundraiser. That dang kid.
I received a phonecall from local celebrity and KAGE colleague Aaron "A-Town" Christensen. He is doing a story in the next edition of the Snowdrift about The Jake 'n Dave Show. To be quite honest, I am way excited. We definitely need some perks and some publicity. I'm way stoked for this. PLUS, it's going to be written by A-Town himself. Ooof. Masterpiece anyone?
Well best of luck with trying to lose the turkey. Dating season is always here, ya know.

Happy Thanksgiving
Well I have gone back to Wyoming and Jake, surprisingly, hasn't returned to his beloved Idaho for the break. Instead he is kicking it in Logan with his g-pa and family. I decided to set up this blog for kicks, and I'll be honest, I am pretty excited to muff Jake on this thing. Of course, he will muff me right on back. But we shall see who will muff better.
Jake and I have been talking, and we are pretty sure we are going to make the show a whole ton better here in the near future. We've talked about special features and sound effects, new top ten ideas, and more intense giveaways of Jake (okay... so actually I haven't talked with Jake about that one yet... but he'll go along with it.) The Jake 'n Dave Show is just getting started!
Feel free to comment on this blog, giving us ideas for the show and what we should talk about. Plus, you might find yourself ON the Jake 'n Dave Show. Afterall, we are looking for good guests.
Have a great Thanksgiving you all! See you next Thursday!
